Transfer of Parenting!
Dad and I had a great return trip - out in front of the storm that has made the Midwest wet and dark and cold today. It was a GREAT trip! 88 miles on day one afternoon, 128 for day two and closing with a full and beautiful 148 mile day (my hands are still sore!). Awesome, Dad! Let's do it again! I was transferred between parents at the Mendoza mcDonalds.
Here is the quilt Mom is finishing for niece Liz. Neat colors and pattern. It is the night sky! Complete with a great backing material and cat hairs! Beautiful!

In Quest of a Better Blog - Bacon corn bread
What if you could get good recipes here? Links to fun things, movie tips.....I am expanding this blog! Here is a recipe made today when I found some bacon in the fridg that needed cooked.
Cook 4 or so slices of bacon until crispy.
Combine dry ingredients:
1 1/2 c. Yellow corn meal
1/2 c. Flour
2 t. Backing powder
1 t. Sugar
1/2 t. Salt
Combine wet ingredients:
1 1/2 c. Buttermilk
2 eggs
1/4 c. Oil (use bacon grease)
Mix quickly. Add cooled bacon bits. Scoop into cupcake tin. Bake 450 for 15 minutes.
