Lean, Organic Meat!

Darker than a night in hell. That's how dark it was as Michael and I rode down the trail opening day of elk season on Friday. Twenty minutes before sunrise, I spotted this elk and was able to get a shot. As they say, that's when the work started! Of course, he ended up in a gully! My trusty guide got him gutted and quartered and loaded atop the mules. We walked the 4 plus miles out. By 4pm, the elk was delivered to the processor in Idaho! Thank you Mr. Elk for giving us a year's worth of meat.

Fantastic Guide and Awesome Husband! He was hoping to not get quite so blood-covered on this one!

Me at the elk in the gully.

This was the first time we packed meat on Cosmo. Kind of expected a rodeo, but he stood quietly and didn't even snort! How to make the "A Mule List". Good job, Cosmo!!
