Winter Project

Every winter, Mike takes on a welding project to fuss with at the Walton Ranch.  He gets out and feeds in the morning, then welds away on a winter project.  A couple of winters ago, he built the most sturdy, awesome swing for our front porch.  The thing weighs a thousand pounds (okay, that may be a slight exaggeration) and sports a trex-covered swing that one can sit and rock back and forth, drinking one's gin and tonic, listening to the meadowlarks and frogs sing, and contemplate how retiring early could be managed!

This winter, Mike built a privacy screen.  Our renters to the north have a straight-on view of our hot tub.  Which means, they have a straight-on view of our bare asses and other parts as we get in and get out of the hot tub.  So, Mike built a screen.  It has a center post, anchored in concrete.  Hanging off the post, fence-like, are two swinging screens.  The swinging feature was important in the design so one could cut the grass under the privacy screen without causing great harm to one's head by running into the thing.  Take a look!
